Sharjah, U.A.E. — Malayalam star Kunchako Bobban led the walk to mark World Autism Day in Sharjah Corinche in the United Arab Emirates Thursday April 2.

Bobban, who also represents the Al Fasht Medical Centre located in Sharjah’s Al Nahda as a goodwill ambassador, led the walkathon, “Walk a Mile for Autism“, in Sharjah Corinche and was joined by hundreds others.

The actor became so passionate about raising awareness for autism ever since he joined the World Autism Day last year, which he said was a changing point in his life, as well his wife’s. Bobban is married to Priya Ann Samuel.

Incidentally, Bobban and Samuel’s wedding anniversary also falls on the same day. In an interview with Emirates 24|7, he told:

“Honestly, I didn’t even know that my wedding date coincided with the World Autism day, until last year, when we celebrated the day with children at Kusumagiri hospital in Kerala.”

“It was one of the happiest days of my life, and it was a joy to perform with the children. After the event was telecast on numerous television channels, I had parents of those children ‘call and thank me’. That’s when I realised what they must be going through, and how I can bring about change.”
