Gwinnett County, Georgia —  WSB-TV Atlanta 2 reports that police say a girl, 15, who has autism, is recovering after her parents had kept her in a small room and did not feed her. She now weighs only 60 pounds.

The police then further add that the girl showed other signs of abuse, doctors had found bruises all over the girl’s body.Police believe the girl, was kept in a closet-type area of a house that measured 2 by 2 feet.

Her mother, Jade Jacobs 35, was jailed on child cruelty and false imprisonment charges. Her husband, William Brown has also been charged but is yet to be found, as officers are still looking for him.

Gwinnett County Police Cpl. Ed Ritter told:

“It reeked of feces and urine, and the floor was sticky apparently,”

The girl’s mother had taken her to Scottish Rite Hospital and had told doctors she, “could not do it anymore.”

This was when doctors noticed the bruising and wounds indicating that she had been restrained. They doctors said that they believed the abuse had been going on   for a long period of time for the sores to develop.
