AbuseProtectingIstanbul, Turkey – The mother of two adult sons with autism has filed a complaint against teachers at a special education center for physically assaulting both men after viewing the incident on an Internet video.

Professor Aysegul Ogmegul has launched a legal battle against the offenders involved in the beatings with the goal of bringing them to justice for their actions towards her sons Ata and Bumin.

Although Ogmegul has relocated and enrolled her sons at a center in another city, she became aware of the incident that had occurred at their previous facility after recently seeing an uploaded videotape of the assaults.

A disgruntled ex-employee who has since been terminated and who was apparently seeking retribution for his dismissal reportedly posted the video.

Because many individuals on the spectrum often have limited verbal communication skills and impaired social awareness, they are more susceptible to being targets of abuse. However with the advent of social media and increased use of cell phones, documented instances of such assaults are becoming more common.

As a result, Ogmegul has the evidence that she needs to support her claim and vows to continue to pursue her case against both teachers until they are appropriately punished for their actions.
