IPSEA
IPSEA (Independent Parental Special Education Advice) UK, is a national charity that provide free legally based advice to families who have children with special educational needs (SEN)

IPSEA have recently launched an online training package for parents of children with SEN. The e- learning course is also of benefit to people working and supporting families of children with SEN.

IPSEA state in their website:

‘Please note: This course is based on the current law. The Children and Families Bill is presently going through Parliament but will only become law when enacted. This course does not reflect the C&F Bill as it is not the law. Should it be enacted, IPSEA will revise its training package accordingly.’

The online course consists of 7 modules covering the following areas of SEN Law:

  1. The Law on Special Educational Needs
  2. School duties towards children with SEN
  3. Statutory Assessment
  4. The Statement
  5. Naming a school
  6. Amending the Statement
  7. Annual Review

The course costs £49 and this covers the costs of developing, hosting and updating the course material.
