Davison, MI – We were extremely upset to read the news on Saturday July 11, that the body found in Lake Callis was that of 9-year-old Omarion Humphrey. He had gone missing on July 4 while in Abernathy Park with his foster family. Our last report can be read here, Search for missing 9-year-old boy with autism continues – w/video
The park had been closed for several days while the police search was under-way. It reopened to the public on Friday and his body was found in Lake Callis Friday morning.
Although no foul play is suspected, Davison Township police Chief Rick Freeman told:
“Investigators are still working diligently on the circumstances that led up to Omarion being in the water that day, apparently unsupervised and without any flotation devices,”
