Derry,ME – 49-year-old Main resident Rich DiSalvo has biked from Kittery Point, Maine, at Fort McClary State Park to Yulee Florida to raise money for Autism. He is calling this the “Tour To Endure” and it is the second of three tours to raise money for Autism Speaks. He began his trip on July 22 and finished a day early.
He was accompanied by his wife, Sue, his daughters Christina, 19, Jennifer, 8, and his sons Joe,21, and James, 17. As he told NewHampshire.com:
“They’ve been incredible — this has been the definition of a team effort.”
Each of his children, along with his brothers Phil, Steve, and Dave got the chance to personally ride with him throughout the tour.
The previous tour lasted the length of New Hampshire and was completed in two days with $1,000 raised. He has raised $4,000 of his current trips $5,000 goal. To help reach that amount Black Bear Lodge of Waterville Valley,New Hampshire is donating the grand prize of a two-night stay at one of their deluxe suites to a fundraising raffle. His next tour will commence next summer and will run a total of 3,000 miles going from Oregon to Hampton Beach.
