The Reason I Jump: The Inner Voice of a Thirteen-Year-Old Boy with Autism by Naoki Higashida jumped to  No. 2 from No. 556 on Amazon, more than a month after its release, the day after a guest appearance by co-translator David Mitchell (Cloud Atlas) on The Daily Show with Jon Stewart.

Stewart says on the show, which aired October 1st:

“It is the most illuminating book I have ever read on the syndrome [of autism] and on the individual. I don’t normally urge you—The Reason I Jump is on bookshelves.”

He then closed the interview by adding:

“Please, if you get a chance, please pick it up. It is remarkable.”

As of the end of this week, it remains at No. 9  on USA TODAY’s Best-Selling Books list.

Autism Daily Newscast first reported on Nigashida’s book back in early August.
