Newcastle, Del– Autism Speaks has donated a $5,000 chapter grant to ensuring children with autism in the area will get a camp experience.

Easter Seals Delaware and Maryland’s Eastern Shore were awarded the grant on February 25. The money will be used to ensure that a variety of activities will be available to children with autism, including swimming, canoeing and one to one councillors.

This was one of 54 grants awarded in the USA by Autism Speaks in affiliate with Toys Are Us.

Ken Sklenar, president/CEO of Easter Seals told the Record Observer:

“Easter Seals Delaware and Maryland’s Eastern Shore is honored to receive this funding from Autism Speaks. Camp Fairlee makes it possible for children with autism to enjoy a residential camp among their peers. This grant will allow the staff to better understand the campers and their needs.”
