foxcatcherFilm and television reviews by our resident autistic film critic Maymay.

Based on the true story of Mark Schultz, an Olympic wrestler whose relationship with sponsor John du Pont and brother Dave Schultz would lead to unlikely circumstances.

I thought this was a good movie. I didn’t like that Mark kept hitting himself or that he smashed his head into a mirror hard enough to break it. Mark and his brother were really good wrestlers. I liked that John wanted to support them as wrestlers. I also thought that him wanting to house the Olympic team was cool too. I thought he was a pretty cool person until he smacked Mark in the face  and I thought he was gonna replace him with his brother. I liked Dave and how he supported his brother and his family. He was definitely a man who made sure his family was taken care of before he was.

It shocked me when John du Pont shot Dave because I didn’t know why and he was really calm about it. I thought the gun was to just scare Dave but he killed him. Channing Tatum was really good at playing this role and does need an award for it.

We were very fortunate to have attended the Philadelphia premiere at the Prince Music Theater last night. Not only did we see this amazing movie, but got to see stars walk the red carpet. As an added bonus, the director Bennett Miller spoke to us about the film.
