Autism Daily Newscast loves to be able to report good news stories and so when this showed up on… where else but the Good News Network!  Scroll down to the bottom and watch the video which explains this uplifting story the best. An Australian woman who was born with Down Syndrome and a mild form of autism, has built a business based on her low level of reading comprehension.

Jo Lynam’s daughter has down syndrome, a cleft palette and autism and she can’t read or write. She wants Emma to be like any other 21-year-old, to stand alone on her own two feet and earn her own living. Jo has found a way to help Emma, turning her daughter’s challenges into opportunities. It turned out that Emma Lynam is the perfect person to trust with destroying your sensitive documents.

There are lots of opportunities for those who are disabled and/or autistic to become independent; we just need to be creative and persevere. It isn’t going to be easy but it is going to be worth it.
