New drama classes for young people with autism launched at North-East Centre for Autism

NEASNorth-East Centre for Autism, Newton Aycliffe, County Durham, UK – New drama classes for young people with autism will be launched at the centre next month.

The classes aim to encourage young people to use dance and drama to communicate and express both their emotions and ideas.

The classes will be funded by the Ashburn Trust in Darlington and is part of a wider project led by The North East Autism Society.

Susan Tron, trust fundraiser said:

“We are really keen to make the most of the marvellous facilities the charity has here in Newton Aycliffe.”

TIN Arts, who are a not for profit contemporary arts group, will run the sessions which will start on Saturday, June 14.

Sessions are free to eligible children under 18.
