Carlos Slim who is a billionaire, together with the founder of Best Buddies, Anthony Shriver, have created a new campaign.

The awareness campaign, known as “I’m in to Hire,” hopes to encourage employers to hire individuals with intellectual disabilities including autism and Down syndrome.

The campaign urges employers to sign a pledge online in order to both support and promote workplaces that are fully inclusive.

Carlos Slim  told:

“The ‘I’m in to Hire’ campaign is challenging all of us around the world to open our minds and consider people with intellectual and developmental disabilities as qualified, dependable, employable candidates. These individuals are dedicated, skilled workers and it is clear that their involvement in the economic activity is relevant for all of society,”

Cheryl Hines and Lauren Potter who are both actresses together with athlete Carl Lewis support the campaign and have taken the online pledge.
