Amherst, Lorain County, Ohio – On May 18 the video entitled, “You Are Not Alone” will be filmed to raise awareness about autism.
Michael Whary of Boy Scouts Troop 120 who is an Eagle Scout candidate, is organising the film shoot at the Children’s Development Center, 150 Erie Ct.
His wants to reach out to parents whose children have been recently diagnosed with autism.
A release announcing the project states:
“Since one in every 89 children are diagnosed with autistic spectrum disorder, chances are you or someone you know are facing the challenge associated with the many symptoms of a child on the spectrum,”
The video will end with a lip dub and all scout troops, church organizations and all members of the community are invited to take part. Dubbers are urged to wear bright colors or clothes that represent their groups.
They’ll sing along to “Roar” by Katy Perry.
Registration will start at 12:30 p.m followed by a practice. Individuals and families can walk in, however groups are asked to RSVP.
Filming will begin around 3 p.m.
