Ahwatukee, Phoenix, AZ – Katrina Vasquez is a 24 year old waitress at Sakana Restaurant who cares for her single mother. As well as waitressing, Katrina volunteers her time in order to help others, and she does so through her wonderful talent of art and namely face painting. Katrina recently visited Egypt in order to help out an orphanage

One of her acts of kindness though was much closer to home and took part in the restaurant. One of Katrina’s skills is making hats for children who have lost their hair through undergoing cancer treatment, she herself recently underwent treatment  for breast cancer. One day she met Dustin Friedman, a young man with autism and decided to make him a Pokeman hat as she noticed that he was a huge fan.

She therefore made the hat, after their visit, and gave it to Dustin on his return to the restaurant a few months later. Dustin loved the hat.

Katrina also received a surprise of her own and a thank you for what she had done, in the form of a huge tip from the Freidman family You can watch the video below to see the full story
