New York autism educational program sets sites on Spain

Queens, New York – Thanks to a grant given by the government a Queens, New York, group set up to work alongside parents of autistic children has set it’s sites on developing a similar incentive in Spain harnessing the power of the internet.

ArtAccess based at Queens museum have been in discussions with the Museum ICO in Madrid to help set up the “emPOWER Parents: Fostering Cross Cultural Networks between Families with Autism” group.

A grant of $73,000 will aid in the communication and setting up of the project overseas. The aim of the project is to provide a support network for children with autism involving schools, educational centres, parents and the wider community.

Groups have already held joint meetings over Skype.
