LONG ISLAND CITY – A new video and new details from a police report on the disappearance of Avonte Oquendo that was released by the lawyer for Avonte Oquendo’s family. They decided to release the new video on Monday night and it clearly shows Avonte running just feet past the safety agent’s desk.
David Perecman attorney said.
“He walks slowly right in front of the desk and then bolts and now stops and turns around,”
Perecman obtained a police report through the Freedom of Information Law, and this stated that one of the teachers responsible for the teen with autism reported Avonte tried to get away from a group of students the day before he ran from the school. Perecman adds,
“How much more do you need to know that somebody does the exact same thing the day before, to know that’s a problem.”
Avonte’s body was found along the East River in College Point three months after he disappeared.
