BOCA RATON, Fla. – John Miller is on the autistic spectrum. He got married 8 years ago, his wife Terri, isn’t on the autism spectrum, she works within the Palm Beach County school system, working with students who are on the autism spectrum.  He told WPTV news that many people never expected him to marry, but that he has now proven that individuals can grow and develop.

The couple dated for 2 years before tying the knot. Due to the difficulties in forming relationships and in social skills for those individuals who are on the spectrum, Mr Miller decided to write a book entitled,  Decoding Dating – A Guide For Those With Autism .

In his book he broaches the subject of going on a date and the differences between coming across as inquisitive or that of an interrogator.

“One of the things that individuals on the spectrum have a tendency to do is ask question, beyond question, beyond question. To someone who is going to go out with someone, that’s very upsetting.”

Mr Miller told that for those individuals who are on the spectrum, they need to change every aspect of their life in order to reach the wedding stage,

The couple have a 7-year-old daughter.
