Kathleen describes LEGO therapy as a social development group, in that children in small teams work together in order to complete projects and that by doing so help to develop social skills.
This kind of LEGO therapy has also shown to improve confidence in children, they improve their ability to be able to initiate social skills with both adults and their fellow peers.
They describe that LEGO is everywhere: in every ones homes and that because of this children have the ability to generalize their skills into other environments such as other people’s homes, schools and library clubs.
LEGO ultimately allows the child to particiate in other groups as they learn their social skills with LEGO.
