Jo has also spoken at events such as at the House of Commons and at Autism’s Got Talent about her journey to achievement within her sport.
At present Jo has set up a GoFundMe campaign.
Jo states that as an amateur competitor she has to self-fund her own training and competitive costs which can be really expensive. She also adds:
“I also have a disability (Asperger’s Syndrome) which means that I need support and assistance in getting to competitions, in particular international competitions – I am unable to travel alone. This significantly raises the costs by doubling them.”
Jo wants the opportunity to compete in this year’s WKC World Championships for her fourth world title and next year’s Irish Open.
“I have been awarded two Northamptonshire Sports Awards and also a Martial Arts Illustrated Hall of Fame Award.”
Jo desperately wants to attend these Championships.
“I want to carry on my success so that I am able to continue to demonstrate that people with Asperger’s can achieve when given support.”
Jo is asking for everyone to please share her GoFundMe page adding;
“If you are able to donate even the smallest amount it will help greatly. Also if anyone knows of any company or organisation who may wish to sponsor me please get in touch for further discussion. There is the opportunity to display logos on my kit during presentations and social media work.Thank you”
