NEW YORK – There are a  few new and innovative  performance at The New York Musical Theatre Festival this year.  The New York Musical Theatre Festival will proudly host two autism friendly performances.

The Autism Initiative (ATI) at The Theatre Development Fund (TDF) are serving as consultants for these programs for those on the autism spectrum, special need children and adults and their families  They will staff the lobby area which will have a quite/activity area, with autism specialists.

The New York Musical Theatre Festival have made adjustment in two programs. Thus allowing children an adults (and their families) a chance to enjoy two popular stories.  There will be light and sound reduction to allow people on the autism spectrum a rewarding experience.

The Snow Queen” will be performed on Saturday, July 19th at 11 a.m. at the Alice Griffin Jewel Theatre.  “Rescue Rue” will be performed Sunday, July 20th at 11 a.m. at the Ford Foundation Studio Theatre.

Ticket prices are twenty five dollars a seat which includes a fidget toy for every seat. A fidget toy is provides as those on the autism spectrum often need something to fidget with producing a longer attention timespan.
