BOULDER COUNTY – Debbie Stone a mother with a son diagnosed with autism found that she wanted to do everything possible and available to help her son. It soon became apparent that the shuffling between treatments, the lack of insurance coverage and the disruption in her sons life soon became a nightmare.
Her dream was to have one place that offered all his treatments in one location. She was also hoping not only to find one site therapies but programs that were lower cost or free. She took maters into her own hands.
In 2012 she decided enough was enough and did something about it. She created the New York based nonprofit Pop.Earth which offers low cost holistic services for children with developmental disorders including autism.
Pop.Earth recently opened its first of many planned branches across the United States. It is in full swing offering low-cost to free yoga classes at the Yoga Pod in Boulder. The classes are held on Saturdays and are open to all children with any disability or need.
Instructor, Chris Capitelli said
“Just come and check it out once and see what you notice in your kids. You might be surprised,”
