Castleconnell, Ireland.– Autism Assistance Dog Toby, a mix of Bernese Mountain Dog and a Beagle, disappeared last Sunday in front of his owner Nicola Meskell’s home in Castleconnell Ireland. In a public statement she asked for the dog to be returned to her safely so it can resume it’s duties of helping her 21-year-old son Peter who has autism.

What’s more, she stressed to RTE News, that the dog has an autoimmune disease and needs several medications to live comfortably. For example, after excising Toby needs steroids.

In an  interview with RTE News she said:

“Not only is he special to Peter, he is special to us because we care for him,”

Thanks to Nicola’s public statement and social media, the dog was safely found on a main road, only after being gone for three days. No one knows where the canine companion had been to while he was gone, the Meskell’s are just happy to have him home.
