If you didn’t know where Whoopi Goldberg stood on vaccination you sure to now. Everyone go into the anti-vaccination discussion last Thursday on The View. Goldberg was clearly annoyed about the events of infant Livia Simon who is in four week quarantine to monitor her after a visit the doctor who had been exposed to a child with measles. Goldberg said,
“The fact that you are proudly saying, ‘I’m not vaccinating my kid,’ find yourself an area with other people who feel like you. And then, you won’t have to worry about it. I tell you, if I get measles from your kid because I haven’t had them, I’m coming to your house.”
It must make you wonder if tensions where high between Goldberg and Jenny McCarthy while on the set.
Also, Thursday was the finale of Parenthood which had a great run of six seasons. Now I have to admit that I have never seen even one episode of the show but I suspect I will eventually tune in via Netflix. What was important about this soap opera show was the stories around Adam (Peter Krause) and wife Kristina (Monica Potter) and their oldest son Max (Max Burkholder).
The character Max Braverman was created by Jason Katim who’s own son, Sawyer, has a diagnosis of asperger syndrome. With an adviser on the set, Max has been the best researched and authentic character with an actual asperger syndrome diagnosis. The final episode wrapped the various story-lines up with a series of flash forwards. The last was where his father Adam gives Max his diploma while the rest of the extended family celebrates his graduation. Yeah we all wish that is possible for our kids on the spectrum.
As for The Celebrity Apprentice, another type of soap opera, Donald Trump fired four players on Monday night leaving only three: Vivica Fox, Leeza Gibbons and the one and only Geraldo Rivera. Some viewers expressed their wish that Trump fire all of them and get this show over with. As for the final call next week, most bets are on Leeza to win. You won’t find any crying from me.
