A seemingly innocent tweet from Jenny McCarthy turned ugly as it drew the Pro vaccination crowd to answer her in their droves using her own hashtag #Jennyasks.
Jenny McCarthy, the outspoken The View host, ex-playboy model and fervent anti vaccination campaigner has stuck to her guns about how she believes the Mumps Measles and Rubella jab caused her 10 year old son Evan’s autism.
The tweet she sent out on Thursday March 13 was innocuous, asking fellow tweeters which personality trait they were drawn to in specific astrological signs:
Ms McCarthy was replied to with a barrage of insults, including her #JennyAsks hashtag:
Phil Plait, commenter for the National Post said:
“Remember, while McCarthy has been rather quiet on this front lately, we’ve seen many outbreaks of vaccine-preventable diseases in the United States. Cases of measles tripled here in 2013, mostly due to anti-vaccination propaganda. There’s an outbreak in NYC going on right now, and one doctor isn’t afraid to point a finger right at the anti-vax movement. I don’t blame him; outbreaks tend to be centred in places where vaccine rates are low and someone travelling abroad brings the disease back with them.”
